My mother was a member of the Miami Senior High School band in the 1940's, graduating in 1945. Mr. Wright had a profound impact on those students, as I imagine he did on all his students throughout his amazing career. Mom was delighted to find information about his 100th birthday online, and her wish, at 90, was that he would outlive her. She passed away in February of this year, at 92 1/2 years of age. I'm betting there's a heck of a band in heaven, and we all know who is leading it! Rest in peace, Al Wright, and my sincerest condolences to you and yours, Mrs. Wright.

Al was my cousin. My grandmother and his mother were sisters. I regret that we never had the opportunity to meet in person, however we did speak on the phone. Al was very generous in sharing with me our family history, family stories and photos. I am saddened by his passing and send my deepest sympathy to Gladys, Adele, Cynthia and families.

Gladys, Adele and Cynthia, so sorry for your loss. Dick and I had season tickets to the Purdue football games for many years and attended the Rose Bowl in 1967, what wonderful memories. What a blessing Al was to his family, Purdue, and the community. May he rest in peace.

I will surely miss Al and treasure memories of musical events shared. I can just imagine he is already organizing the angels with musical instruments and forming the greatest band of all time in Heaven. God's blessings on a life well lived.

Gladys and Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Al did live a good and full life, and I had the pleasure to be drilled in the fine art of marching when in high school at Otterbein where Mrs. Wright taught. Those memories will never fade away and live with me forever. How lucky I was to have crossed paths with Al Wright!!
