Shirley Schau, 78

Shirley Harvey (Kramer) Schau of Lafayette, IN went to meet the Lord Friday September 6th after a brief illness. She was born June 17, 1935 on a small farm in Beaver, West Virginia to Champ and Edna Harvey. Shirley was the oldest of 10 children.

She married at a young age and raised three children Katie Green, Robert Lilly and Nora Adams. Shirley married Albert Schau in 1976 and he preceded her in death.

Shirley was fun loving had a great sense of humor, enjoyed books, movies, and family. She was a hard worker, putting herself through nursing school while raising her family. Shirley had a successful nursing career retiring from St. Elizabeth Hospital in 1994.

Shirley left a legacy of a large family which includes: Grandchildren: Davy Green, Richard Green (deceased), Joey Green, Brian Adams, Stephen Adams and Maggie A. Clairse Adams (Deceased), Travis Whaley, Claire Perry, Emily Kain, Joanna Quinn, Lisa Collans, Greg and Goriene Norman. Great Grandchildren: Richie, Brittany, and Jarret Green; Adam and Jacob Green; Kate, Grace, and Jack Whaley; Lilly and Max Perry; Caroline Kain; Sierra and Savannah Green; Ethan Schau, Adison and Hannah Quinn and a great great-grandson: Ryan Paul Green. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Diane Norman, Albert Schau, Tom Schau, siblings David Harvey, Paul Harvey, Danny Harvey, Donnie Harvey, Ted Harvey, Patty Bailey, June Ford, Judith Hartwell and Jane Schatzley.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Service 10 AM Wednesday Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Memorials contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice. Sign the guest book and leave memories at www.soller-baker.com.

Shirley was a truly beautiful woman who had a heart of gold. I enjoyed working with her at the "old" STE Hospital. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family, but especially those who were a big part of my family's life - Nora, Bryan, Stephen, and Ted.
