Mike was one of those rare human beings who actually listened when you talked. He defied cancer for as long as he could, living more fully in the last few years of his life than most of us ever do. We are thankful to him for reaching out to our family, visiting us on his many trips to the South. We are very sad to lose him, and regret that we could not be there for his service.

My sympathy to Mike's family. We lived together on Third West Wengatz at Taylor University (when we both had more hair). I respect him for going on to be a pastor for so many years.

Not living in the area, one finds themselves surprised by familiar names in the paper on line. Joyce, Bill, Kim, and Dave--I am saddened for your loss. I know you well enough that you have already taken a STRONGER clasp onto the Father's hand. What a legacy Michael has left for you to ponder, justly, and never shake your head at the story left behind. For what Rev. Mike has done in his time here will live on. Just as George, Rev Jack, and Rev Ernie has. And the influence these men had on Michael passes on to those he touched.
God's peace, joy, comfort be yours to comprehend in the days ahead.
