She was the most amazing human being I have ever met. I miss her so much. I pray to the good Lord that one-day my little Zaara becomes just like Rachel. She inspired me so much. Nobody can be a great role model for my daughter than Rachel. I thrive everyday to be like Rachel.

Mike, Marilyn, and Ralph,
Words cannot express enough sympathy for your loss. When we met at Wright State, Rachel and I became classmates and friends. That friendship grew deeper over many years. Rachel was a wonderful friend, and I considered her a part of my extended family. I was delighted to introduce her to my daughter, whom Rachel said she was adopting as her niece. We couldn't be more lucky to have Rachel in our lives. Rachel spent her time doing the things she loved. I will strive to do the same. I started to plant sunflowers in my garden years ago because she liked them and they grew easily. Now, I will forever plant them in her memory. I miss her and pray for her and for all of you. Please know that I will always be here for you.

Dear Michael, Marilyn and Ralph,
Our sincere sympathies on the loss of precious Rachel. We met Rachel when she joined Wright State together with my daughter Prachi. Rachel blended in easily whenever she visited us in Cincinnati. I believe she hosted the country songs radio show while at Wright State. Rachel livened up our celebrations, whether it was Prachi's move to Pittsburgh, or her bridal shower, or the wedding in December 2012. We could not have imagined that we would lose Rachel so early. But even as she departed she left us with the poignant message to appreciate every moment we are given with our loved ones. Rachel will be sorely missed. I have uploaded a few of her pictures. Please accept our heartfelt condolences

To all of Rachel's loved ones....... I did not know Rachel, but my sister and brother-in-law (Sue and Tom Smith)are part of the ski patrol team at Swiss Valley in Michigan. I felt compelled to reach out to you as I lost my daughter in an accident in 1999 out by Battle Ground. My heart breaks for all of you for the devastating and tragic accident that took Rachel's life. As a parent, there is no greater pain and I just wanted to let you know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you begin this grief journey. I do hope in time that your precious memories will bring you comfort. I am so very sorry for your loss.....

Dear Mike, and the Logan and Gligorich families: Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of enormous difficulty. We in the School of Mechanical Engineering are very sorry for your loss. We recall your recounting the many vacation trips you and Rachel took together to Central America. You were so excited at moving to the new farm where Rachel could have more space and freedom with horses. I personally very well remember when Rachel joined Purdue ME as a graduate student and then finally graduated happily with an MSME. If we can be of any help, please feel free to ask.

I am so sorry for your loss Ralph and Marilyn. Rachel was on our FIRST Robotics team at Penn High School in 1998. I have fond memories of working with her as the only girl on our team and i remember what a great smile she had. She contributed greatly to our robot and class. I also remember Marilyn coming with us to the national competition at the Epcot Center. Rachel was so talented and dedicated to her interests in Engineering. I often speak of Rachel and her talents and passion as a female (in a largely male dominated field) as i work with our many female students in the STEM Academy. Rachel had a significant role in forging a path for many females in Engineering. Thank you Rachel for your leadership. I will always remember you!

Rachel will be greatly missed. Her loving, open, and happy presence could never be replaced. I enjoyed every lesson, every ride, and every talk her and I had in the beginnings of her journey with Orion. I loved her determination of not letting her life be limited to the everyday grind. She made time to explore new things and took every challenge with a full heart and passion to finish it, no matter the outcome. Rachel was a wonderful and loving horse woman, a great artist, and an amazing friend. I know we all can find peace in knowing that, as she did in this life, she will find the most extraordinary adventures to have.

I am so saddened to hear of Rachel's passing. Rachel used to swim at the same time that I did at Purdue in the mornings. We often shared a lane or swam in adjacent lanes in the warm water to keep one another company. I knew she loved guinea pigs, horses, and made pottery, and that she was an engineer, but I never knew she had accomplished so much in her short life. May she rest in peace.
