Marie Dexter Obituary
West Lafayette - Marie L. Dexter, 99, of West Lafayette, formerly of Remington, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Life's Journey Hospice Care of Indianapolis.
Marie was born April 8, 1922 in Benton County, Indiana to the late Homer and Theresa (Wagner) Sigo. She was a 1940 graduate of Gilboa High School.
Her marriage was to Donald A. Dexter on February 19, 1944 in Remington. Donald preceded her in death in 2000.
Marie was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington and the Altar and Rosary Society. She worked many years in the cafeteria for the Tri-County School Corporation. After retiring to Lafayette, she greeted and served coffee at McDonalds in Lafayette and West Lafayette. Marie enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are 5 children, Larry (Sandy) Dexter of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Jerry (Darla) Dexter of Indianapolis, Rich (Brenda) Dexter of Rensselaer, Tom (Mary) Dexter of Rockwall, TX, and Luanne (Joe) Cooper of Avon. Also surviving are one brother, Vernon Sigo of Cape Coral, FL; 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death along with her husband and parents is a brother, Charles Sigo.
Services were held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Goodland with interment to follow in the Remington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Marie's name to Life's Journey Hospice of Avon (10241 E. CR 100 N Indianapolis, IN 46234) or American Heart Association @ heart.org.

Marie and I have been friends for years. I live at Friendship House in West Lafayette where we met again. She was a sweet loving person and will be sadly missed. My sympathy to all of her family.m
