Pauline "Polly" A. Liucci, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal life, at age 92, on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, with her loving family at her side. Pauline was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Liucci, also of Enfield.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1926, in the Thompsonville section of Enfield. Pauline was the daughter of the late Diego and Anna "Rinaldi" Sacheli. She graduated from Enfield High School, and worked for National Print until the arrival of her children, when she became the mother everyone loved. She was a lifelong resident of Enfield, and a devout Catholic and lifetime member of St. Patrick Church of Enfield. She loved to read, was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, as well as UConn women's basketball, but her greatest passion was playing bingo and she was a ruthless contender for the weekly prizes. Pauline's greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was never a holiday when grandma didn't make her famous meatballs and chicken cutlets with a sparkle in her eye, and oh, how the grandchildren loved them.
Pauline is survived by her children, Ann Marie Lee and husband, David, of Clinton, Donna Chaisson of Enfield, Joseph T. Liucci and wife, Robin, of Suffield, and Thomas D. Liucci and wife, Linda, of Enfield; her beloved grandchildren, Kerri-Ann, Heather, Brian, Jennifer, Kristen, Nicholas, Alexa, Shawna, Bubba, and Jake; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Peter, Ava, Nicholas, Jack, Jocelyn, Ethan, Adelyn, and Arlington. She also leaves a sibling, Salvatore Sacheli and his wife, Dorothy, of Enfield; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Pauline was predeceased by her brothers, Charles Sacheli and his wife, Mary, James Sacheli and his wife, Francis; and sisters, Mary Spadonni and her husband, Nelio, and Anna Lauria and her husband, Samuel. She leaves behind her close friend, Anna Del Greco; and her many bingo and card playing friends.
Pauline's family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Francis Hospital for the kind and compassionate care Pauline received while there.
Relatives and friends may gather with the family during calling hours on Sunday, April 29, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield.
