Louise Abrahams-Yaffe

Abrahams Yaffe, Louise Passed away peacefully on December 26, 2012 at the age of 97. Dear mother of Alice (Don) Gruenberg, Jim Abrahams and Jane (John) Butenhoff. Beloved Grandma Lulu to 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A University of Michigan graduate, Louise dedicated most of her life to serving the community in her synagogue, on the Wisconsin AARP Legislative Committee, WI Commission on Aging and Long Term Care and as Director of Volunteer Services at Jewish Family Services. She was inducted into the Wisconsin Senior Citizen Hall of Fame in 2001, had an annual award created in her name by the Board on Aging, and twice served as the State Representative to the White House Conference on Aging. The family sends special thanks to Louise's kind and understanding physician, Dr. Mark Chelmow-ski, compassionate, devoted care-takers and friends Arlene Watson-Tutt and Vera Boyd, along with Georgia King and Pat Conrod.
