Lori Presser Obituary

Lori Kay Presser

Wauwatosa - Lori Kay Presser, born November 27, 1961, passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2019 at her home in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Lori found her career direction early in food service and candy making and excelled in this field. She started out making peanut brittle, decided to cover it with chocolate, and her business, Ultimate Confections (co-owned with Pat Murphy) was born.

Lori's skills in delegating jobs while seeking her helpers' opinions led them to understand that their contributions mattered.

Lori befriended people easily. She was not judgemental in her decisions and choices nor was she swayed by the opinions of others.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Presser. She is survived by her mother, Anne Presser; sisters, Janis Oppitz (Charles), Sue Presser (Michael Steinmetz), Gail May (Mark), and Judy Presser (Chuck Benedon); nieces and nephews, Samantha, Samuel, Tessa, Ariel, Deirdre, Laura, and Jeffrey; and very special friend, Steve Lerner.

Lori will be remembered as a loyal friend, a beloved daughter and sister, a wordsmith, and a skillful communicator. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, from 12:00 PM, until time of service at 1:30 PM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield. Entombment to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park. If so desired, memorials to the Waukesha Humane Society appreciated.

So many times I think of times shared creating new chocolate ideas. Many over a glass of vine after the store closed. Also shared our love for our Bella's. Hope her legacy lives on for many years to come.

Lori, to say you were more than a good and true friend would be unjust. You were so much more to so many! I don't know how or why, but I loved you dearly from the first time we met at church. You were way beyond a great and special person. I am SO BLESSED to have known you as a dear friend and your family, too. I still wish that you were here, so I could talk with you at least one more time. We sure had great conversations. Some good, some bad, some joyous and some sad. You definitely helped through some of the hardest times in my life. First, was when my sweet daughter was called back to God's kingdom at only 11 weeks old. Then, there was the time when my wife(at the time), sat my 4 kids and I down, only to tell us she couldn't handle being a Mom and/or wife anymore and walked out on us. Which of course, led to our divorce. I will NEVER forget you my dear dear and sweet friend. I sure hope you're busy making your heavenly treats in God's kingdom. I look forward to having some and more so, seeing you again. I love you still. Until we meet again, RIP my dearest of friend.

Lori, from the moment we met at Saz's before the twins, now 34, were born, until the last time we spoke you were ALWAYS kind, thoughtful, gracious, caring, charming and a wonderful acquaintance. You always took the time to ask about my daughters, and later Rebecca, to get updates on how they were all doing. I introduced ALL out-of-town visitors to your incredible chocolate concoctions, to their great delight. Some people come into your life, leave an indelible mark, and bring a smile every time you think about them. That smile is now tempered by the tears that flow when I realize that this dear woman is no longer walking among us. We lost her the same month I lost the mother of those same twins to pancreatic cancer. Honestly that's just too much loss all at once to absorb. Rest in peace Lori and God bless and keep you near his heart, as you are near to my heart. I miss you so much ...

To the entire Presser family. Please accept my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy and apology. I apologize with all my heart for first sending this now. I JUST found out about my sweet, dear, long time friend, fellow church member and my favorite Candy Lady's unexpected death, about 5 p.m. today(4/9/2020. I can assure/promise you, if I had known back then, I would've come down for the service. I truly loved and will miss Lori.

I remember all her long hours in the church basement kitchen, when she first started her business. I shared a lot of those hours with her. If/when she had a problem with equipment or otherwise, she'd call me first and I gladly came to her rescue(lol)! From time to time when Lori first started out, I'd help her getting all the product shipped out. Especially, during the holidays.

Again, I'm so very sorry for this delayed remembrance. May God Bless you all!!

Dear Presser and Murphy Family:

I just wanted to offer my deepest condolences on the loss of a precious and loving wife, daughter, aunt, and good friend to so many people. Lori was a kind, smart, and wonderful business person who had the insight with Pat to open a business that brought so much joy to all the people who received their delicious chocolate treats. She will be surely missed and our yearly discussions at her store or at the church basement where she first started will never be lost.
My prayers and thoughts are with all of you and I will surely miss my sweet friend.

Love and peace,
Charlyn "Charlie" Pozza
