Nancie Uihlein Obituary

Age 81. Died peacefully in Naples, FL on Friday, April 1, 2005. Formerly of Naples, FL and Mequon, WI. Beloved wife of Herman A. Uihlein, Jr. for 60 years. Loving mother of Herman A. Uihlein, III - Del Mar, CA, Peter T. (Pamela) Uihlein - Mequon, WI, George H. (Susan) Uihlein - Grafton, WI, and Linda R. Uihlein - Free Union, VA. Doting "Ohme" to grandsons, P. Timothy Uihlein, Mattson H. Uihlein, Justin D. Uihlein and G. Andrew Uihlein. Further survived by two sisters - Adele Van Altena - Milton, WI, and Eleanor Ellis - Roanoke, VA, other relatives and friends. Nancie, born in Evanston, IL, to Louis and Ida Dauer, moved to Milwaukee and graduated from Milwaukee University School and attended Penn Hall and Northwestern University. Nancie was an avid reader, skier, golfer, tennis player, hunter, SCUBA diver and bridge player. As an advocate of the fine arts, she was instrumental in the formation of the Milwaukee Pops Orchestra.

Memorial Service to be held Saturday April 16th at 11am at St Christopher's Episcopal Church, 7845 N. River Rd., River Hills.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Christopher's Episcopal Church or the Schlitz Audubon Center, 1111 E. Brown Deer Rd., Milwaukee, WI 53217.
