I'm sure no one will remember me, but I ran across this on a google search and was compelled to write something. First sorry to the family and Rick for your loss. I too lost my partner of 44 years Dec . 2013 and know how tough it can be to go through the pain. My name is Gordon Bob and I went to Saint Catherine's and I did one year at Pius High. I remember him as a kind gentle soul. He invited me to goo to the cottage on Okauchee Lake and that was the first time I ever tried water skiing and how Steve had to sing himself to sleep. We all went our own spirit ways and lost total contact with him. Ironically His cousin Paul Stich married my cousin Debbie Starich. Well I will say a prayer for you Rick and the whole family. Sorry this is coming after a couple of years, but knew nothing of this happening. Love, Light and Peace. Gordon Musolf

He will always be Mr. Miksic to me. In the classroom he commanded respect, but made sure you knew you could come to him with any problem. And I took advantage. He was there for me through my parents (very messy) separation/divorce. Long story short, he made sure I knew that no matter what, I was going to be ok. Here we are in 2017, and I wanted to reconnect with him, tell him how even after 27+ years, I still remember how important our 1on1 time was during that period in my life. Posting this on his obituary, I am sad beyond belief.

Many memories still live in my head. I remember hanging out listening to classical music with my favorite teacher as a child. I regret that the last time we were in touch I was not the man I am today. My sympathies Rick. I know I left things strange with you two, if I can do anything please contact me.

So many wonderful memories of the entire Miksic family (Ray, Dolores, Bob, Steve and Tommy) growing up on Okauchee Lake, attending Okauchee Days snd a then a trip to the Kiltie. Bob was a very dear hearted person. Our sympathies go out to all of you.

Bob was such a wonderful brother-in-law. He has made me very proud to carry the "Miksic" last name. We miss him dearly already.

"Keep your tails up!" These are the words Mr. Miksic would repeat over and over again to remind us to finish our cursive words with an upward stroke. Six children in our family learned much from Mr. Miksic. He was an inspiring, kind, encouraging and funny teacher who cared deeply about his students. I, too, can still recite all the parts of speech because of him, talk German pretty well, and know that shorts before the weather turns 80 degrees is just not appropriate. Please know that Mr. Miksic made such a positive impact on so many of us Stone Bank students and may you find happiness in the memories of him. Keep not only "your tails up" but also keep your spirits up as you celebrate this fine man's life. Liz Tobolt

Such a loss, but we were all fortunate to have had him in our lives. More than twenty years since I was in his class and he remains a constant influence in my life.

Bob taught trouble making kids the meaning of respect! Ever since graduating Stone Bank School in 1989 all of us would reminisce about going up north with him fishing ect. Bob treated us like we were adults, he was always positive. Andy Whidman and I were in a bad car accident with Bob. He was hurt real bad when the truck finally stopped rolling over, we were fine but all he could think of was to make sure we were ok by ignoring his own broken bones and checking our cuts and bruises until his body locked up from the pain. He really loved his students and was truly a superior man.

To the family of Mr. Miksic:
My family and I are so sorry to hear about your loss. Mr. Miksic gave so much of himself to his students--and I especially feel indebted to him. He inspired me to live and study in Germany and to become an English teacher. His lessons transcended the classroom. My sisters and I can still recite the eight parts of speech; we remember how passionately he taught us to properly pronounce a German umlaut by making a "piggy snoot;" I even think of him when I properly enter my seat at a theater. May the fond memories of his laughter, voice, and stories comfort you during your time of sadness. Thank you for sharing him with us and supporting him outside of the classroom. To Mr. Miksic, the Stone Bank School teachers, and other teachers who have shared your lives with your students -- thank you. Kristin Traudt and family

My cousin Bob was the eldest cousin in the Kreuser family. We always looked up to him. He was kind to all of us and had a great sense of humor.
