Praising God for Sammy's promotion! Praying for Ava and the family. I was blessed to sit under Sam's messages at Cumberland and at many Bible studies in our home. What an example of God's faithfulness, he ran his race well! I am sure he earned these words: Well done, good and faithful son!

What a Joy it was to know your dear loved one. We always had such a great time together. He never failed to talk of Christ's coming and what a wonderful day that would be! Marion always appreciated Sanford ! I know he was there with open arms to welcome him...what a rejoicing.

We will miss Sam at our Faithful Followers Sunday School class at CABC. I always enjoyed Sam's optimistic friendship, and his knowledge of the Scriptures each Sunday morning. I set beside him last Sunday, and he spoke of his upcoming surgery. He said he knew the risks at his age but then said: "God is in Control" Sam is with our wonderful Lord this day. You will be missed here, and until we see you again. Thanks Sam for being a part of our lives.

I was a church member all my life, but was not saved until I was 27. And really never knew my Bible until I met Sammy, who taught a class in my home for many years. Oh how wonderful to know he is home now with the Savior he loved and taught with such humility, and almost always with tears of love and joy in his eyes. I still have so many questions to ask Sammy, but by the time I see him again, we will both know ALL the answers! Much love and prayers for peace and grace for his dear family.

Pastor Sammy touched so many lives by living out his faith in Jesus and his love for God's Word. His faithful teaching has impacted my life all these years. God bless you Ava and family as you grieve, and may our Lord provide the strength and comfort to your family.

"Sammy" Hartzler has been one of my most favorite persons. At Cumberland as a teen, I remember the revival we enjoyed under his ministry. He employed my budding gospel piano playing at some meetings in Haverhill I'll never forget. Too many memories to write. God bless all you family members. Love you, Kirk Bolton

"Sammy" Hartzler led me to faith in Christ in 1966. How thankful I am that God brought him into my life. I have been a pastor/missionary for over 40 years, and I owe all I have done to the grace of God, through Sammy.

Sam will be so missed! His insight into the scriptures and his joy in His Lord was always evident no matter what he was talking about. Our Sunday School class will not be the same.
I remember Sam coming to Calvary Bible Church when I was young and sharing his message of God's love with us there, many many years ago. Ava you and your family are in our Prayers.
