Luther Ordaz Briones, 84, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on September 21, 2015. Luther was born February 20, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas. He married Carmen Cervantes on December 31, 1950. He was an Army Sergeant during the Korean War. Luther returned from the service and worked for Social Security Administration from which he retired early in 1986. Luther was a devoted husband, loving father, grandpa, uncle, godfather and friend to many. He was a man of integrity, a true provider, and touched many souls. He will greatly and deeply be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and all seven siblings. He is survived by his wife, Carmen; 7 children, Manuel, Pauline, Luke, Arthur, Betty, Bernadette, and Mark; 16 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. In addition to the direct descendants of Luther, there are many extended family that are part of a magnificent representation of love, he was a patriarch to all. Visitation services will be 4-7pm, with a rosary at 4 pm, Sunday, September 27, at McGilley and Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9am, Monday, September 28, at Queen of the Holy Rosary, 7023 W. 71st St., Overland Park, KS.
