Bruce and Sarah, I am remiss it took so long to send my condolences, but I am so sorry for your family's loss. I will forever remember Paul making mine and Kim's "special request"grilled cheese sandwiches as we all stood in the kitchen and laughed and flirted and had such fun times. Those were great times for Rick, Kim, Richard and I, as we always looked forward to eating and partying at the "Angler's". I will always remember those times with a big smile!

Ruth, Bruce, Sarah, Mimi and all whose lives have been touched by Paul -
There can be no finer testament to the quality and meaning of Paul's life than the many extraordinary tributes on these pages. Though my time with Paul was much too rare over these many years, know that I share your pain in this void and that I will be thinking of you often in the days and month ahead. He is so sorely missed because he is so fully loved. Peace . . .

From the first day I (we) met Paul, we knew we had a friend for life, a diehard Packer fan, and a servant who would go to all ends to please. I will never forget, or ever visit Angler's again, where as I will not expect him to open the kitchen screen door to say hello (in between his signature pizza creations) Paul is/was one of the reasons that the "Hayward" area experiences were always the best. God must have needed a "kitchen man" (or do it all man)...our family will miss his smile @ Anglers and/or at Lambeau!

We were stunned and saddened to hear of Paul's passing. We had just met Paul while visiting the Whitsell's at Angler's this July. Barefoot and soaking wet he had just come up from working on one of the docks. As we were touring Mike's "Favorite place in the whole world" Paul graciously opened up the "saloon" and showed us around. We came back to enjoy food and fellowship at Angler's Haven a couple more times during that week and got to spend a little time talking to Paul. From that first wet hand shake, it didn't take long to know Paul was a man who you would want to have as a friend and neighbor. He was a man who made the world a little bit better just by being in it. We admired his pride, contentment and joy with what he had and where he was in life. Our Thoughts and prayers are with you all as you deal with this immense loss. We will stay in contact with the Whitsell's for anything you may need. God bless you and give you strength and peace.

Dear Bruce and Sarah,
I'm so sorry to hear about Paul's death. What a shock. I have so many fun memories of Paul and Angler's Haven from my time as a counselor at Kroehler. Angler's was our second home. Paul was always so warm and caring and loved to hang out with us. I'll never forget when he published the picture of Laurie, Meg, and I in the fishing magazine holding fish we had taken off the walls of Angler's! Sending lots of love at this very sad time. Fondly, Andrea Coustan

Our family is truly blessed to have been introduced to Paul about 12 years ago. My children, David, Stephanie and Nicholas absolutely love this man and all he stood for. When you look up the words patience and compassion, the definitions include a picture of Paul. For now, our mission is to continue the memory of this outstanding man and carry on with what he taught us all over the years. When it is our time, we will understand why he was taken from us so early. Obviously, God had a plan that Paul was a big part of. We will never forget you Paul and thank you for including us in the category of your friends. You will be forever missed and loved and one day will greet us again with those words you used so many times at Anglers Haven, "Welcome Home"

Mimi, Bruce and Sarah,
We were very sorry to read about your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families as you move on.
My family has been looking forward to our summer vacations at Anglers for more than forty years. We first met Paul, Bruce and Sarah when they took over ownership thirty years ago. During that time I always looked forward to Paul's “welcome home” greeting upon our arrival. From his job as chief cook at the Monday wiener roast to his morning maintenance rounds he always took time to stop and chat. Frequent topics included inquiry about success during the previous night's “Walleye run”, the status of his Labs, hunting successes from the previous fall, the Packers and the improvements made to Anglers as they rebuilt the cabins and lodge from the ground up. Paul truly made Anglers feel like home.
Paul, thanks for your friendship and rest in peace.

He blessed us all with his incredibly positive personality. Love and prayers to all of you.

Bruce, Sarah, Mimi, Jordan & Kelsey:
I was so saddened to read about your tremendous loss; it is a deep loss to everyone who knew him.
Angler's Haven has been the highlight of summer every year since I was born (1971) (and my parents' and grandparents' summers long before that). I got to know Paul, Bruce & Sarah 30 years ago, when they became the "new" owners. As a kid, Paul made me feel special every time I talked to him--whether it was raving about the fish I caught or telling bar patrons about high-score I got on the old "Crazy Climber" video game, or just giving me that power handshake and welcoming me back to my summer "home" year after year.
It was no different with my kids, who have been coming to Angler's since they were born. For instance, the last few years Paul would always interview my daughter Nina about her fishing exploits, hoping to report them on the radio weekly radio show. Telling Paul about her fish was just as exiciting, if not more, than telling her grandparents.
No doubt, our experiences are not unique. Paul, rest in peace. You will be dearly missed.

It is often hard to tell someone of the influences they have made, making your life and time on this earth a better place. And most times, too late.
Paul, you certainly have made our lives complete with your smile, your outgoing personality, and your desire to live life to the fullest. Since meeting you 30 years ago, you have become one of the greatest friends that we will ever know. You had the opportunity to do what others could only dream of, with the rest of us coming to Anglers Haven to check on the latest chapters of that dream. To say that you will be missed, fails to fill the void that we are left to endure, but we will forever cherish having you as our friend.
To MiMi, Bruce and Sarah, Ruth and family, our deepest sympathies and watchful prayers are with you as you move onward day by day as Paul would have wanted. You have been blessed by having one of the greatest persons on earth, as a soul mate, as a brother, as a brother in-law, as a son and a loved one. Go forward knowing that you are now the caretakers of the dream that he so cherished and made better for all.

I am so thankful for the precious 14 years we shared. You have been my rock, my best friend, my soulmate, the love of my life.
I will miss you every second of every day! My pride in you is immense. You are the most wonderful man I know. You were always up for an adventure--thanks for being such a sport--even when it was something you really didn't want to do. Like the 40ft drop water slide at Blizzard Beach, or the concert road trips. We had some dandy adventures. Your job now is to scout out the best hunting & fish spots for our next journeys when I can join you again.
I am thankful that you left us on your terms-peaceful, positive, and happy. I just wish we had more time.
Nash and Jade are already missing you, but I promise I will try my best to keep our little girls happy and healthy.
Forgive my anger for not being able to grow old together as we had planned.
Your smile and laugh will remain in my heart forever. There are so many wonderful stories and laughter we have shared, I will remember and smile often! Thank you for being my better half. I am a better person because of you.
Paul, I will Love you forever,
Mimi

I wish to extend my solemn condolences to the family members of Mr.(Tall) Paul Wick. He was a friend who will be sorely missed. We had the honor of meeting Paul for the first time only five days before he passed away. Immediately, we could tell what a great guy he was and how much he loved life on the lake. I would always stop at Paul's window in the kitchen when pulling into the parking lot at anglers and we would trade stories about the day while he was making burgers in the early days or pizzas in later years. I always wondered how many burgers and pizzas Paul cooked over 30 years but you know no matter the number he cooked the first one and the last one with the same pride in what he did so that everyone he served got the same anglers experience from the wick famille to your family/ Paul was one of the best. Paul, Bruce and Sarah made us feel as if we were a part of the Anglers Haven family starting from the day they bought the property some 30 years ago. I made it a ritual on my later years visits to go enter through the kitchen just to see Paul first.
A special guy from a special family.

Dear Ruth, Susan, and Bruce,
I am so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. The times that our families spent together, whether camping or sharing a winter break will always be among some of the fondest memories of my childhood.
I still remember like it was yesterday, Paul and I playing with our Matchbox cars in the dirt for hours on end, hanging out at the "old tree", and most importantly " dime time".
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Paul's loved ones.

Being part of the Angler's Haven family for over 30 years, our hearts are broken to hear the news about Paul.
Paul will be missed but our memories live on. I will certainly miss and cherish the memories of Paul early in the morning doing his daily routine of cleaning the deck and cutting the grass with a weed wacker, but taking the time to stop and talk for a few moments.
Paul also loved the kids during our week watching all of them grow up to be young adults and spending time with them at the resort or taking them to Billy Boy Dam.
Each year when we arrive at Angler's there was Paul greeting us....
Welcome Home!!!.....he certainly made you feel at home....
Now God has welcomed Paul into his home....Angel's Heaven.....
Our thoughts and prayers are with you....

Paul's smile and happy ways has been passed on to the children and families that have been lucky enough to meet him. His caring friendship will live on at Anglers through them. The lives he has touched are many and he will be at Anglers forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

When you say the name Paul Wick, it brings a smile to your face. What a wonderful man. Thank you for the many years of great memories for myself and my children growing up. And I'm sure God is using one of your favorite lines now Paul, "Welcome Home". Thinking of all of the Wick Family and Mimi. With very heavy hearts, the Crystal Lake, IL boys.

Dear Mimi and family,
Our hearts are broken by the news of our friend Paul passing. We shall always remember his smiling face and happy spirit. The many New Year's Eve dinners at McDermids will always be a remembrance of love, laughter, and good friends. Our thoughts are with all of you at this most difficult time. We lost a love, but God gained an angel.
