1936 - 2016

PADUCAH -Robert Phillips Petter, Sr., 80, of Paducah, KY, passed away on April 6, 2016 at his home. He was born in New York, NY on January 15, 1936. Robert was a long-time member and Senior Warden of Grace Episcopal Church in Paducah. Bob Petter was CEO of Henry A. Petter Supply Company until his retirement. He served on the Board of Directors of Citizens Bank and Trust Company, was a past member of Rotary Club, and member of Princeton Colonial Club. Bob graduated magna cum laude from Woodberry Forest in Orange, VA in 1954 and graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 1958. He was an ROTC graduate and went on to be a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army at Fort Gordon. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Frederika M. Petter; and his parents, Stanley DuBois Petter, Sr. and Anna Webb Phillips Petter. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Maria Beatrix Maarsen Petter; son, Robert P. Petter, Jr. and wife Karen J. Petter; two granddaughters, Olivia Juliana Kathryn Petter and Meredith Marie Petter; step-grandson, Ahmed El-Hindy from Toronto, Canada; brother, Stanley D. Petter, Jr. of Lexington, KY; nephew, Stanley D. Petter, III, of Lexington, KY; niece, Anna Webb Petter-Egerton-Warburton of New York, NY; great-nephew, William Petter of England; and great nieces, Brook and Avery Egerton-Warburton of New York, NY. Memorial services will be held at 11am Monday, April 11, 2016 at Grace Episcopal Church with The Rev. Charles Uhlik, The Rev. Tim Taylor and Deacon Richard Paxton officiating. Urn burial will follow at Grace Episcopal Church Memorial Garden. Memorial visitation will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 3:30-6pm at Grace Episcopal Church.
