Kyle Moroney Obituary

Kyle Mathias Moroney

Sevierville, TN

Kyle Mathias Moroney, age 23 of Sevierville, TN, and formerly of Lenoir City, TN, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Mile marker 1 on US 129, Blount County, Tn. Kyle was a Roman Catholic, and was born in St. Louis, MO at St. John's Mercy Medical Center on March 20, 1994 to Wm. Roger and Debra A. Moroney. Kyle and his family moved from Fenton, MO to Lenoir City, TN in 2001 where he initially attended Eaton Elementary and North Middle schools before transferring to St. John Neumann for the 7th grade. Following graduation from St. John Neumann, Kyle attended Knoxville Catholic High School and graduated in the class of 2012. For his freshman year, he participated on the football team, the same year that KCHS won the State Championship. In 2014, Kyle obtained a diploma in Automotive Technology from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology. Kyle was employed by Akard Commutator in Alcoa, TN as an engineering assistant since November 2015. Prior to that, he was a Service Technician at Lenoir City Chrysler Dodge Jeep following graduation from TCAT. Kyle was a very active member of the East Tennessee Z Club, and the Knoxville Car Enthusiasts. He was a frequent attendee at the local Cars & Coffees held around town, as well as the informal car meet ups. There were always friends over at his house, and they spent time working on their cars or just telling stories. He didn't know a stranger and would open his arms to newcomers and make them feel welcome. His smile would light up the room and his laughter was infectious. He was preceded in death by his uncle, James Robert Blentlinger, and great-grandparents on both his mother's and father's side. He is survived by his parents, Wm. Roger and Debra Ann Moroney of Sevierville, TN; grandparents Floyd and Carol Blentlinger of Mt. Sterling, IL; William (Butch) Moroney and Sue Moroney of Springfield, IL; and Loretta and Bill Groom of Crossville, TN; uncles: Dan Blentlinger of Williamsville, IL, David Blentlinger of Harrisonville, MO, Robert Blentlinger of Mt. Sterling, IL, Ken Blentlinger of Mt. Sterling, IL, Steve Blentlinger of La Grange, IL, and Allin Moroney of Springfield, IL; aunts Lisa Moroney of Crossville, TN, and Jeannie Albrecht of Belvidere, IL and numerous cousins. Kyle had friends from all over the world that shared his love of cars. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cathedral with Father David Boettner, officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Edgewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 8, Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel. Active Pallbearers will be Adam Ledet, Jonathon Sullivan, Matt Harris, Taylor Steger, David Francis, Isaac Cooper, Darryl Cannon and Jarred Beck. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Blentlinger, Allin Moroney, Seth Fisher, Nathan Fisher, Cody Blentlinger, Jerek Jones and Colin Blentlinger. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in Kyle's name be made to Knoxville Catholic High School http://www.knoxvillecatholic.com/donate-online/ or to another charity of choice. Kyle was in the class of 2012. "He has helped so many people in so many ways that we want it to go on in his name a little longer." On-line condolences may be extended at www.rosemortuary.com. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kyle's family. He was a great guy and always the first to offer advice on cars. Thanks to his advice, we got to drive Zayla, the 1990 300zx, one last time. He will never be forgotten.

I was staying at Tapoco Lodge one night by myself for some car event at Tail of the Dragon and randomly sent out a Facebook post that I was there. Kyle immediately responded offering his company and of course, I was only to happy to oblige. We split a pizza and "might" have had a few beers....well, two anyway. :-) It was so typical of Kyle to offer friendship to a fellow car enthusiast and from what I've heard, anyone needing help of any sort. The world is a poorer place without him and his generous spirit and big heart and will be sorely missed.

I met Kyle through the car community, of course :) He welcomed me in when I first purchased my Miata, and gave me much advice and recommendations as to different mods and such. He was extremely friendly and helpful beyond words, and to me, who at the time was a complete stranger. We had many conversations after, and he had the most awesome sense of humor, and a wonderful outlook on life. So very sorry for your loss, and our loss as well. He meant alot to many, I see him everywhere in people's thoughts and prayers on Facebook. Continued prayers through this difficult time.

My husband and I were on the dragon Saturday. Before we start and before the very first curve, we always stop and pray, not just for our safety on our Harely, but for everyone's safety and to have a fun and safe ride. Please accept our deepest sympathy and both families are in our thoughts and prayers. We are so sorry for your loss.
