I had the honor of getting to know Stan when I served as the Stanley Legro Professor of Environmental Law at the University of San Diego School of Law, and he became a friend as well as a colleague as I continued to teach at USD. It was always a delight to see Stan at USD events or to meet him for lunch. He contributed a great deal to the EPA, the Environmental Law Institute, state governing boards, and USD. Most of all, though, he contributed that twinkle in his eye and enthusiasm for life whenever we met. He will be missed but his legacy lives on.

Stan and my husband, Graham Murray, were longtime friends.
We enjoyed his visits to Durango to look at his property on the Dolores river. He was truly a renaissance man with many accoplishments and interests including running the New York City marathon. He will be
missed. My sympathy to Susan and Wayne.

Wayne & Susan - Enjoyed running into and talking with your Dad in RSF usually at the PO. Such an old school gentleman - true old schooler who will be remembered. Hope you two are thriving.

I will always remember Uncle Stan with great love and affection. He always treated me with kindness and I will never forget his smile. I am so sorry we are not able to get together right now to mourn his death.

I will remember Stan as a kind, thoughtful, and relentlessly inquisitive friend. He was devoted to his family and Ann, and found joy in the opera, travel, and continuing leadership activities with the Naval Academy's foreign affairs conferences and the Environmental Law Board. He always sought common ground, I will greatly miss our conversations.
