Daniel Martinez Obituary
Daniel Martinez was born in El Alto, N.M. on Aug. 6, 1942 to Benjamin and Maclovia Martinez.
Preceding him in death, his daughter Jennifer; his parents, Benjamin and Maclovia; sister Margaret; brothers, George, Alfonso and Samuel; nephews, Rudy, Pete, Mark and Dean; niece Patricia and her infant daughter named Shirley; also great niece Rebecca; and great nephews, Joseph, John-John and Kevin.
He was the ninth in a family of 12 children.
He is survived by his two daughters, Doreen Esparza - Grants, N.M. and Mary Lou Martinez - Santa Fe, N.M.; two granddaughters, Erica Martinez - Reno, Nev., and Amanda Rudolph - Santa Fe, N.M.
Also survived by his five sisters and two brothers in chronological order; Rose Marsh - San Antonio, Tex., sisters Ernestine Garcia and Jane Espinoza and brother David - all from Cheyenne, Wyo., brother Margarito - Bradenton, Fla., sister Gloria Cassidy - Milan, N.M. and Frances Goodrich - San Diego, Calif., 39 nieces and nephews; and best friend Oliver Martinez- El Alto, N.M.
Daniel graduated from Mora High and obtained his Associates Degree in Electronics. Talented artist, martial arts student, war movie aficionado, self-styled comedian, and music enthusiast.
His siblings are sure he would like a note of appreciation to his niece Marcia for being at his side during his trying last journey.

In person viewing took place on Dec. 28, 2020 at Rogers Mortuary.
Virtual viewing, rosary, mass and burial via ZOOM was hosted Dec. 29, 2020 by Daniels' niece Julie Goodrich - San Diego, Calif. for those unable to attend in person.
MASS was at St. Gertrudes Catholic Church in Mora, N.M. with Father Paul Grala, S.O.L.T. as the celebrant.
Attendance was limited due to pandemic protocols.
BURIAL was at the Mora Cemetery in Mora, N.M. with pallbearers Doreen Esparza, Marcia Martinez, David Cassidy, Christina Thomas, Arthur Barela, Dino Fenton and Jim Martinez.
