Domanico, Charles Louis
Born January 20, 1944 Chicago, Illinois; died October 17, 2002 of lung cancer in Los Angeles, California. Charles (Chuck) Domanico is survived by his beloved wife, Enid R. Domanico; his loving father, Enrico `Harry' Oppedisano; his daughters, Raenne Haber and Christafore; his grandchildren, Shannon C. Olson and Lauren Haber; his great-grandson, Joshua Wiseman. Chuck is also survived by his sisters Patricia Ferreri and Luanne Hutchings; his loving friend, Jussta, and every musician and person in the world who loves music. The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26, 2002, at the Hall of Liberty of Forest Lawn Mortuary- Hollywood Hills. Chuck's dream was more than realized when he became one of the top studio musicians, and also met his wife and soul mate, Enid. Chuck Damanico has received numerous music awards, including the coveted MVP Emeritus Award from the Los Angeles Chapter of The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences as Bassist in 1975, Bassist in 1976, Bass Player in 1977, String Bassist in 1977, Bassist in 1978, Electric Bass Player in 1978. Chuck Domanico worked with such luminaries as Celine Dion, Sting, Barbara Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Phoebe Snow, Joni Mitchell, Rod Stewart, Michael Bolton, Henry Mancini, Gus Mancuso, Dave McKay, just to mention a very few. He played on over 2,000 film scores, television theme songs such as Cheers, Fraiser and MASH, innumerable record albums, live dates, and was a recognized jazz bassist. The International Jazz Festival 2002, November 28-30 in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico, has scheduled a tribute to Chuck Domanico.
