Ulmer, Raymond A. (age 78)
Passed away peacefully on July 23, 2002 in Los Angeles. Born in Chicago, Illinois on November 15, 1923 and lived there until he moved to Los Angeles, in 1949, where he lived the rest of his life. He was a medical psychologist and taught future physicians at UCLA Medical School for many years. Dr. Ulmer was highly respected for his committed work on the problems of sick people following doctors and other healthcare professionals' recommendations. He was ordained a Zen Buddhist priest in 1998. Survived by his son, George Henry Ulmer, and beloved by a large number of family members, fellow Buddhists and other psychologists, and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His life will be celebrated on Sunday, August 11 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM in his home.
