I have many childhood memories of Tony, now sorry to learn of his passing. I've often wondered about him through the years but was reluctant to contact him. Gaylord Dixon

I met Tony when he was at Stanford obtaining his MBA. We had many good times together and I know for a fact he enjoyed fine dining and took many of his friends to some of the most exclusive restaurants in San Francisco Saint don´t worry about paying for it I have more money than I´ll ever be able to spend so let me buy you the dinner and don´t you think twice about it.I remember our weekend in Los Angeles when he showed me the first microwave oven that I had ever seen. We were cooking all sorts of weird things in it to see what would happen. Somethings with explosive result. I also remember his Mercedes 190 and his Jag XKE. I think he liked cars. He made fun of my triumph spitfire. He was a fun guy and I regret that we never extended that friendship beyond that time although I did try to connect a few times.

Tony and I were fraternity brothers at Stanford. I remember Tony as a "force " both physically and mentally who had an
entertaining sense of humor. And, over the decades, I very much enjoyed watching him lead Rainbird to become a leader in the field of efficient use of water, this globe's most precious commodity and resource. And his enlightened role as captain of the Rainbird family and enterprise. A job well done Tony. RIP

I am so sad to hear of Tony’s passing. I posted this obituary to Facebook and here is what I said. The world lost a very special person.

I had the great pleasure to know Tony through our involvement with NPCA, he was one-of-a-kind and always made me smile. You know the person you always want to sit next to in a meeting? Tony was that guy. He was kind, unassuming and had the best sense of humor. Many know Rainbird, but may not know the guy who founded it was one of the best, most kind hearted people one would ever know. I’m glad I had the opportunity to know him. The world lost a great one.
