Clara Kern Obituary

August 12, 1917 - September 12, 2017 Clara Luz Kern was born on August 12, 1917 in San Salvador, El Salvador. She passed on September 12, 2017 in Santa Monica. Clarita lived in El Salvador until the family had to leave as a result of political strife and necessity. They lived briefly in Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia. After marrying Robert, they relocated to the U.S. Travel beckoned to Venezuela where they lived happily for 5 years. Clarita has always been known for her indomitable spirit, sense of humor, kindness and generous spirit. Primarily, she wanted family to be safe, happy and together. Family included siblings, Robert, daughter Marta, and grandchildren Martita and Michael. Many countries were visited including in Europe and Asia. Dancing was her favorite hobby. She taught dancing for 14 years. Clarita joined Dottie's Dancers in the San Fernando Valley participating in the 1984 Summer Olympics. She would say, "Be happy, it's the best thing you can do." Her spirit will always live on in our hearts. The Memorial Service will be held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Friday, September 22 at 3:00 p.m.
