David and I were best friends way back in our grammar school days. In the past 15 to 20 years I had done frequent searches to find out whatever happened to my friend from grade school.
My heart sank when I finally located David's obituary last week.
David was born one day after I was and we both grew up in the historic Encanto district in Phoenix, AZ.

Man, could we make each other laugh! With his sense of humor I am not surprised he did so well in the entertainment industry. Although we both went to West High school, unfortunately, we didn't speak much, and after high school, we totally lost touch.

But I will always cherish those memories I have of David growing up together in the old Encanto neighborhood, playing around at Encanto park, having a blast at Legend City, having overnighters at each others house, and riding our bikes around the neighborhood. I will dearly miss you my old friend abd I will always think of you with fondest of memories.

Jeff and Susan...I am so sorry for your loss, but just so you know, I have very fond memories of you guys as well! I believe your mom and dad (Bud and Edna) were friends with my parents too (Charlotte and Kelly). If either of you ever would like to touch base, I am on LinkedIn.

I've attached one photo I have of David, Jeff and me at one of my sister's birthday party way to long ago!

Sincerely,
Randy Brewer
For the past 15 to 20 years I have done frequent searches for David on the internet with no luck.

Years ago, LA sent him and several others to Chicago to produce the TV show, What About Joan. I worked as a writers' assistant on that show. I don't know if it was that fact that they weren't in LA, but us writers assistants got to hang out with the EPs, show runners, actors, the staff writers after work. We went to Bars, Broadway in Chicago.... He was the nicest man and so damn funny. He even fired me, so he, along with James L Brooks, could give me my first role on a multi cam sitcom, because I killed it at the table read. Then hired me back after I was done shooting. Working on that show was more like working with family. Thank you Adam Belanoff for hiring me and Thank you David for making it a wonderful experience.
