Irving Cheslaw Obituary

December 5, 1921 - July 2, 2013
Elegant, gracious, dignified gentleman. Cherished his family and his country. UCLA grad; received his PhD from Columbia University after serving as a Major in the US Army. Lived a fascinating life as a career Foreign Service officer in Trinidad, Jamaica, Ireland, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Washington DC, culminating as an American Ambassador.
Survived by Ruth (Ook), his childhood sweetheart and beloved wife of 71 years, their three children, Ann, Paul, and Lynn (Robert) Wagmeister, his six beautiful grandchildren, Louis, Lilly, and Harry Cheslaw and David, Jonathan, and Michael Wagmeister, his brother, Fred (Phyllis) Gottlieb, sister-in-law, Edna Weiss, and many Koper, Weiss, and Gottlieb nieces and nephews, all of whom adored and admired their Uncle Irv. He will be deeply missed.
