Leah Fischer Obituary

January 11, 1916 - February 17, 2018 Born the youngest of 7 children to Morris and Esther Diamond, in Winnipeg, Canada. The family moved to Boyle Heights in 1922. Lil attended Roosevelt High School where she met her lifelong sweetheart, Harold S. Fischer. They married in 1938 and enjoyed 77 happy anniversaries until Harold's death May 21, 2015. Survived by their grateful children, Dennis (Anne), Randy (late Lauren) and Jan (Dan), their 6 beautiful grandchildren, Shana (Steve), Rachel (Matthew), Camerin (Jason), Brandon (Lauren), Courtney, and Amanda (Willie) and 10 adoring great-grandchildren, Faith, Harry, Eden, Adelyn, Emelia, Grace, Callie, Dottie, Avenlea and baby Jack. Rest in Peace, Lillie, and know you will be loved and remembered forever. Our family thanks Lil's devoted caregivers, Jean, Marilou and Rhea for their greatly appreciated loyalty and loving care over the past 6 years. We also express our gratitude to the wonderful and caring staff of Belmont Village Westwood, where Mom and Dad resided for nearly 9 years, and the recent fine support of Grateful Hospice. Services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary on Thursday, February 22 at 12 noon.
