Roger was an important person in my life. We grew up in the same neighborhood just three blocks apart. The two of us were known for our pranks ! We thought it was fun but the neighbors had different ideas. In high school Roger continued his leadership gifts. His girlfriend, Jeanne, was my best friend. We were all a close group. Roger car pooled several of us in his "not so up to date" version of an automobile -------no back seat. Two in the front and three in the back sitting on stools !!!
Roger was always there encouraging those around him. He was my pal.

Funny memories or rolling up to red lights on Wilshire Blvd. and trying not to stop before they turned green. I'll always remember him fondly.

Thank you everyone for your kindness and support. If you knew my dad, have a cup of coffee in his name. If you didn't, know that he was the best man I will ever know, and the only thing he'd want is for you to spend some time and smiles with the people you hold dear. And maybe the next time you need to hail a waitress, shout "NURSE!" for him, will ya?

Roger served as Assistant Scoutmaster, Advancement Chair and Merit Badge Councelor for Boy Scout Troop 121 based in Echo Park. He was a mentor and good friend of all our adult leaders and he was personally responsible for helping six of our Boy Scouts earn the Eagle Scout rank with his convincing salesmanship. He donated a vast array of camping equipment to Troop 121 and devoted countless hours to the troop teaching merit badge classes at his apartment in Hollywood. He will be tremendously missed by all the Boy Scouts, parents and adult leaders in Troop 121. He was a bright light that continues to shine in our next generation of young people. He was a wonderful grandfather to all our boys and he planted a seed in them that will last forever. Roger was funny, long winded, inspirational, enlightening, thought provoking, inquisitive, witty, humble, lovable, warm, sweet, kind and was a friend to all. What can I say. He was part of our family and we will miss him terribly. Bravo Roger for the love you gave us! We salute you!

Like many of Roger's family and friends, I was saddened by his passing! I was privileged to carpool with him as a freshman at BHHS, with Jeanie Porter and Barbara Blair. He was also a good role model to me as a football player. Yes, he will be missed!

Like many of Roger's friends and family, he will be missed! As a lonely freshman, I had the pleasure of carpooling with him, Jeanie Porter and Barbara Blair. I looked up to him as a good role model and quarterback on the football team!

I was so saddened to hear of Roger's passing. He will always be remembered by all of our classmates from Beverly Vista and BHHS. He was all smiles whenever we passed him in the halls; and always helpful and polite to everyone.

Michelle, I lost your file and number. I went back to Sawtelle to see you dad and he wasn't there. I was told he was at Brotman. I called there and they had no record. Now I get an email about his passing. How sad. My oldest friend. The first person I ever met in California 68 years ago. My sympathy to goes out to you. Burton Rosenberg

Roger is affectionately remembered from his Beverly High School days. He was a well like and admired Student Body President. May he rest in peace.

This is, indeed, sad news. Roger was a dear, close friend. We lived a few short blocks apart growing up. We built "forts" and concocted "mud pies"together. We attended grammar school--high school. Roger had this car with no back seat ! But he managed to car pool several of us---we sat on wooden stools ! Never a fender bender ! Always on time--arriving one minute before the bell ! I have so many memories. I loved him, as did so many.

Such sad news. May Roger now rest in peace and may his family be comforted in knowing he is in a better place. I have known Roger since kindergarten but lost touch in more recent years.
