Walter Sherwin Obituary

SHERWIN, Walter J. Wally Sherwin, born August 26, 1918, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2008 in Van Nuys, CA. Wally was a noted TV/Radio executive who served as Program Director and then General Manager at KHJ Channel 9 television from 1961-1969. While at KHJ, Wally pioneered daytime live TV by introducing the Tempo show and later won an EMMY for producing a live concert at the Hollywood Bowl. In the 70's and 80's, Wally became Program Director at KABC Radio where he successfully made KABC one of the top radio stations in Los Angeles. However, Wally is probably best known to the viewing public as the silver haired pitch man for Adee Plumbing, with his iconic slogan, "...Adee Do!". Wally leaves behind his children, Dennis (Gail), Bob (Jeanne), Candy (Joe), grandchildren Rob, Tara, Michelle and Colin and great grandchildren, Evan, Brooklynn and Chelsea. Services to be held Sunday August 10 at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Sinai on Forest Lawn Drive in Los Angeles.
