I probably remember Mark from Preston Victoria when we were about 17 and went to rock dances 3 or 4 times a week. His nickname was Swazza. He walked my future wife down the aisle when I got married, so we were close when we were growing up.

It is still so surreal that my father is gone. Not a year goes by that makes it any easier that my dad is not here.
I think about him every day and miss him so deeply to the core of my soul.
I wish so much that he was here to see his grandchildren as teenagers. He would get such a kick out of them and spoil them rotten! I feel so sad for them that they miss out on what a rare, exceptional being he was.
I love you forever Dad.

Marc was nothing short of a fashion industry legend. I was lucky enough to be a designer for him for quite a while and he taught me more in those years than anyone in my whole career life. I traveled to Europe and Japan with him many times and will never forget our amazing times in Rome. I loved to travel with him. What a genius, what fun, what a leader, what a great man. What a great fashion eye! He was so loved. I am just learning of his passing. The last time I was with him, after lunch, we were driving in his Porsche and when he said goodbye, (outside of Barneys Beverly Hills-) he tipped back his head, smiled, and let out a huge laugh. I knew in my heart I would never see him again. I am heartbroken that this premonition came true. I will never EVER forget him.

Mark had a telephone in his car!
What a great man he was.
I just had only just found him in Facebook before I discovered he had sadly died.
He gave me my first break in the fashion industry and I will never forget the experiences he gave me.
He had a huge influence on my life and I shall never forget him.

Simply put, Mark Cywinski was brilliant'! A brilliant talent that blesses us only once in a generation.
His presence in the Australian fashion industry from the mid 70's throughout the 80's is legendary.
Jolting the Flinders-lane rag-trade establishment early in his career with his radical and unpredictable style Mark was the man for the times and read the young fashion market brilliantly by implementing brand recognition by way of the first ever merchandise colour blocking presentation into national department stores and transferring that into his hugely successful standalone branded retail store chain throughout Australia complimented by his flagship Emporium department stores in each State capital. Throughout the 80's Mark the great fashion wholesale/retail trail blazer had his peers on the back foot and following his every trend.
Shrewd, confident, hugely charismatic with an insatiable drive to take on business risks daily to achieve success for his shareholders in Australia, the US and the world Mark was forging his dream to build an international conglomerate until unforeseen market forces abruptly forced a revaluation of his plans for the company.
Mark you were my greatest mentor and I often recall our many fantastic times together with great fondness and love
Condolences to Tiffany, Melissa, Marnie, Fiona, India, Saachi and family.

My Father Mark was one of those rare, unique beings that you cross paths with in life, if you are lucky. I cannot imagine growing up with any other Father. I feel blessed for receiving his love, care, kookiness, support, and never ending laughter. He was the most insanely super fun Grandpa to my twins and it fills my heart that he got to spend 5 glorious years with them before he was taken from us too soon. Not a day goes by that I don't miss and think of him. He is forever in our hearts. We love you for eternity Pa Pa.

Mark was our 'mate' from Preston Victoria throughout the 60s. We did everything together. We used to go for drinks on Friday's after work at the Savoy. Great mate. Brian Shallard, Ron Tennant, Chris Avery and Jeff Andrewartha

Mark, your name suits you so well because you've left an indelible mark on my life. You unknowingly influenced so many decisions regarding my career because, as an awesome boss, you led with integrity and fairness with a shrewd business sense that made you thrive in our industry. May you always be remembered as the fun loving, tough, fair and caring man you showed us to be. I'm honored to have been in your company - figuratively and literally.
