As the founder and president of American Beauty Homes he played a key role in the development of the Santa Clarita Valley and opened the door to home ownership for many first-time home-buyers. Jack was appointed to the Board of the California Housing Finance Agency by Governor Gray Davis, serving as Chairman of the Audit Committee and was subsequently reappointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. In addition to his many accomplishments as a home builder, his philanthropic work touched many lives. A lover of the arts, Jack gave his time, expertise, and support to numerous organizations dedicated to the arts, including: the LA County Museum of Art, the LA County Music and Performing Arts Commission, the Music Center, the LA Opera Company and the LA Opera League Speakers' Bureau, personally delivering lectures on opera at schools, universities, senior homes and other civic organizations. He was also very active with Habitat for Humanity, serving as President of the Board of the SCV/SFV chapter. He was instrumental in creating Habitat for Heroes, which is dedicated to serving veterans. I have been out of the country and have just heard of Jack's Passing. My condolences to the family.

I do want to share a memory of my time with Jack. Although there were numerous the one that has stayed with me all my life evolves around Jack's love of classical music. While pledging at USC as a ZBT Jack was my pledge master. Jack did not require me to do stupid things most other pledge masters required What was my punishment and tasks he required me to do? I was required to go to his home on Highland and listen to classical music.

Jack was a great business partner, fraternity brother and friend since High School. I am sure he will be missed by many. Even though in recent years we have not been that close he will be missed my me and I am sure by many others
