David Hogge Obituary

David Wayne Hogge, 47, passed away May 5, 2008 in Santa Fe, New Mexico after a serious illness. He was employed by the New Mexico Environment Department for 17 years and was Manager of the Surface Water Quality Bureau at the time of his death. He worked for Lockheed Environmental Sciences and Lockheed Engineering Sciences in Las Vegas, Nevada prior to joining the New Mexico Environment Department.
David was born in Rifle, Colorado on February 25, 1961. He graduated from Las Cruces High School in Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1979, received a Bachelor of Community Health (1986) and Master of Science (1989) from New Mexico State University.
David is survived by his wife Margaret, his mother Carolyn Hogge, his sister Pamela Varner and brother-in-law Jerry Varner, nephews Matthew, Daniel and niece Leann Varner as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father David Tearle (Terry) Hogge, his grandparents Dave and Madge Hogge, Wayne and Amorette Hall and uncle Denny Hogge.
Memorial services were held on May 7th in the atrium at the New Mexico Environment Department. Services will be held in Rifle, Colorado on June 12th at the Rifle United Methodist-Presbyterian Church, 200 East Fourth Street at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery on Birch Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established the David Wayne Hogge Memorial Fund for Liberty High School Athletes in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Any contributions to the fund should be mailed to Carolyn Hogge, 2442 Marston Heights, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80920-5134.

I played football in the 6th and 7th grade with David. In school at Lynn Jr. High and LCHS, David was always and outstanding person. A lot of people looked up to him. I'm saddened by the loss of such a great person. My prayers go out to his family. Till we meet again David. You will be missed. Vic
