Thomas Hamilton Obituary

Thomas Donald Hamilton, 80, of New Bethlehem, died Monday afternoon, April 27, 2015, at Clarion Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born September 25, 1934, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Charles Cole Hamilton and Bertha Mae Dahlman Hamilton.
He married Sarah "Sadie" Anderson on August 20, 1960, in Pittsburgh. She survives.
Mr. Hamilton was a graduate of Peabody High School, received a bachelor's degree at the University of Pittsburgh, and continued his education, earning a master's degree from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the United States Army.
Mr. Hamilton was a retired Presbyterian minister and was a former member of the Kiskiminetas Presbytery. 
He was a past member of the New Bethlehem Masonic Lodge 522 and the New Bethlehem Lions Club.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Thomas Donald Hamilton Jr. of Pittsburgh and his step-son, Jason Steinhart, of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Becky Questell and her husband, Michael, of McMinnville, Tenn.; a niece, Khris Shafer; and a nephew, Donald Shafer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a brother, Charles Hamilton; and a sister, Betty Shafer.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 30, at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel in New Bethlehem and from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, May 1, at the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015, at the church with the Rev. Cyndy Dixon, pastor of the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Tidal Cemetery, Armstrong County.

Reverend Hamilton was my absolute favorite man, I really enjoyed the visits I was able to have with him over the past 6 years and am thankful for the opportunity to get to know him. My condolences to Sadie and family he was such a wonderful and caring person
