George MERKEL Obituary
July 23, 1922 – June 30, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of A. George Merkel on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the age of 92 years. He was predeceased by his wife Irene; son Barry; and brother Robert. George is survived by his children Marion (Ken), Viola, Jim (Barb), Gerald and Karen; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren; sisters Elsie and Anne. George was born in the Raymore area and farmed most of his life. He was a veteran and served in WWII. He loved fishing, hunting, farming, and loved to socialize.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to Wounded Warriors Canada at woundedwarriors.ca. Arrangements entrusted to
