Dale Osicki Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 20, 2007.
OSICKI, DALE - It is with great love and sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our dear wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Dale Alta Osicki (nee Busch) on February 16, 2007. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 31 years, Don, children Ryan (Ashley Laatsch) and Tenille of White City and Regina, mother Winnie Busch of Swift Current, sister Daphne (Wayne) Bassendowski, of Shamrock, brother, Kim Busch (Penni Leigh) of Swift Current, and nieces and nephews Brendan (Tarlynn) and Reilly Bassendowski and Tyler and Janaya Magnusson. Her close friends Pat Dalrymple, Ken and Donna Schick, Greg and Debbie Sherrard, Perry and Suzanne Binkley and their families also survive her. Dale will be dearly missed by so many more members of the Osicki family, personal friends, staff, students, members of her church congregations, and all those who shared in her life. Her father, Ernest Busch, predeceases her (1990). Dale was born on February 6, 1947 in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan to her parents Ernie and Winnie Busch. She grew up on the farm near Hodgeville with her parents and sister Daphne and brother Kim. She attended school at Emery, St Boswells and Hodgeville. After graduation she received her teaching certificate and later completed her education degree at Regina University. She taught at Weyburn, Pasqua, Stewart Russell and Henry Braun schools during her teaching career. After retirement she substitute taught at various schools in the Buffalo Plains and Qu'Appelle school divisions. In 1976 she married the love of her life, Don Osicki. They lived in Regina for two years until they built their home in White City. Their lives were blessed with two children, Ryan Tyler in 1980 and Tenille Renee in 1985. Her passions were definitely her family, her faith, her friends and her career. She was the inspiration for the family she grew up with, the guiding light for her husband and children, and because everyone she was involved with became a part of her family, she reached out in love to extended family, friends and staff. Her and Don became involved with the Glen Elm Lutheran Church and later Celebration Lutheran Church. Her faith affected every aspect of her life and she shared her faith in actions and in words. She was everyone's best friend because she exuded her enthusiasm and her joy in life. There was never anything that was too much trouble for her to do for a friend. Teaching was not a career for Dale, but a calling. She was always her students' favorite teacher because she treated them as her children. Dale's home and yard were the focus of her abundant talents as designer and gardener. She welcomed everyone to her home and shared her beautiful garden with her friends and neighbors. Dale had a passion for everything black and white. In memory of her passion for these colours, it would be an honour to wear them to the celebration of her life. Come football season, Dale saw only two colours-green and white. Her devotion to the Roughriders became well known to everyone she met and she was not above trying to convert everyone no matter what province they came from. She loved to travel and holiday with her family. Starting with vacations at the cottage at Thomson Lake to winter getaways in search of more hospitable climates in later years, she was not happy unless the whole family was with her and if you married into the family, you were automatically included in travel plans. The family would especially like to thank everyone who supported them in her last few days, including the incredible staff at Regina General SICU, pastor Brian and friends from Celebration Church, and all those who kept Dale and her family in their hearts and prayers. We thank God for her life and for giving us the final two days to express our love and say goodbye. A CELEBRATION OF DALE'S LIFE will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at Celebration Lutheran Church, 3130 Renfrew Crescent E, Regina, SK. It is with great sadness hearing of Dale`s passing. We remember the good times at Bible studies at your place and at Thompson Lake and had a great time of fellowship out on the golf course, and much to Dale`s amusement, she beat me(Don). We will miss you, but we will see you again.

We are deeply sorry to hear of your loss. Our hearts truly go out to you guys and everyone your mothers life touched. I think the thing we remember most about your Mother was her constant gardening of your guys yard (except the +30 days were reserved for Ryans mowing). We were always envious of how great your place always looked thanks to your mom. She is remembered fondly.

With sympathy,
