BRENDA HALA Obituary
June 30, 1960 – August 10, 2015
The family is sad to announce the passing of Brenda after a courageous battle with cancer. Brenda was predeceased by her sister Diane Kirkpatrick and brother-in-law Les Price. Brenda is survived by her parents Lloyd and Gertie Hala, sister Debby (Barry) Mosby, brother Les (Sandy) Hala, brother-in law Len (Irene) Kirkpatrick and numerous nieces and nephews. Brenda began her photography career in 1979 in Regina, SK. In 1987, she became the Regional Manager for Sooter's Studio and managed 43 studios in BC, AB and SK. In 1989, Brenda moved to Vernon and opened her studio in 1991. Brenda has received numerous awards locally, provincially and regionally. She has been recognized for her professional and volunteer work. She has been a mentor to many on a personal and business level. Brenda believed in giving back. She was known for her positive attitude, light demeanour and ability to "go with the flow". Brenda's passions included photography, travel, camping, music, Vancouver Canucks and NASCAR car racing. Brenda will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the entire Community. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, August 15 in Vernon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brenda's memory to North Okanagan Hospice Society, BC SPCA Vernon or the Tom McMurty and Peter Baerg Cancer Clinic, (all in Vernon). Interment will be in Weyburn, SK., at a later date.

Dear Hala family. I was saddened to learn of Brenda's passing. Brenda was a dear frieNd during and after high school. We shared many laughs together. We unfortunately lost touch after she moved.. Brenda wI'll be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
