James Garland Obituary

James Luther Garland, 56, of Kittanning died Friday, May 5, 2017, at Presbyterian Hospital.

He was born May 6, 1960, in Hershey to James Malone and Marjorie Ann Onnen Garland.

Born on May 6, 1960, and leaving this life on May 5, 2017, formerly of Harrisburg but recently of Kittanning, Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, James Malone Garland and his mother, Marjorie Ann (Onnen) Garland.

He was a graduate of Central Dauphin High School and had a variety of jobs until his illness no longer allowed him to work. For the last five years, he was lovingly cared for by the staff of Melody Manor Personal Care Home.

He is survived by a brother, Dennis Garland, of Harrisburg, and sisters, Glenda (Robert) Penigar, of Ford City, Susan George, of Pittsburgh, and Debra Rocca, of Upper St. Clair, all of whom loved him dearly. He was uncle to Benjamin and Hilary Penigar; Julie George (Jesse) Longbrake, and Michael and Holly George; and Scott, Melissa, and Katherine Rocca.

Please hug your brother, sister, or other loved one in Jimmy's memory. Family meant everything to him. Services and burial will be held privately in Harrisburg, and Bakersville, N.C.
