Jeanne Gueltzow Obituary
Louisville - 91, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
She was born September 1, 1926 to Henry and Josephine (Baasgard) Erickson in Coon Valley, Wisconsin and was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Louis Charles Gueltzow, and her five siblings - Howard, Alice (Harness), Leif, Alf, and John - and their spouses.
Along with her husband, she had been a member of Hurstbourne Country Club since moving to Louisville in 1971, where she was a devoted golfer and bridge player. She also loved to read books, cook, and do needlework and other crafts, but most loved spending time with family and friends.
After moving to Louisville, she became a member of Watkins United Methodist Church and of Homemakers, both of which gave her many wonderful friends.
She is survived by four sons, Louis, Jr. (Janeen), Grand Rapids, MN, Philip (Lisa) of Louisville, KY, Tom of Layfette, IN, and Robert (Cindy) of Louisville, KY; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Parrs at Springhurst for their compassion and care and also Hosparus of Louisville.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 4, at 10:00 a.m., at Watkins United Methodist Church, 9800 Westport Road. Visitation will be on Friday, August 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Interment will take place at Cave Hill Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Watkins United Methodist Church.
