Angela Odom Obituary

Angela Rhee Odom Dec. 12, 1946 - Sept. 22, 2022 Angela Rhee Odom, 75, of Dauphin Island, died peacefully at Saads Retreat Hospice facility on Thursday, September 22, 2022. Rhee was born in South Carolina and was raised in Jackson, Alabama. She could often be found, during her childhood, atop McVay hill visiting her Grandpa and playing with her cousins. Rhee worked for many years at The Mobile Press Register. She was a gifted and talented writer for which she received many awards and accolades. She had a dry humor, quick wit, and a compassionate heart. She was a lover of animals, classic movies, Auburn football, Barbara Streisand, and chocolate cupcakes. She was also known to take great enjoyment in a good political debate. Spot was her constant and faithful feline companion whom she had taken in after being abandoned. Rhee is survived by a host of family and friends including nieces and nephews and four special cousins, Debbie, Lesli, Kim, and Mike. We are sure she is joyful to be reunited with her beloved cousin, Yvonne, whom she greatly missed. Rhee chose to have her body donated to USA Anatomical Research Program. A memorial service will be held in November with details forthcoming. Donations in her honor will be accepted at the Dauphin Island Cat Association, 1017 Desoto Avenue, Dauphin Island, AL 36528. An online guestbook may be signed at AL.com/obits.
