I grew up with his music....crying as I'm typing... Can't believe he's gone. Loved and still love his music.

As a cold the very first album I remember is the "The Sensational Charley Pride". My favorite song was "Louisiana Man". Not a popular song but a fun one. I don't get star struck, but i would have liked to have met him in person. He was a great artist who did a lot for Country music.

I came running out the airport bar with a stub of paper and as Mr. Pride for his autograph, which he very kindly approved. One of the best days of my life as he was one of mine and my fathers greatest enterainers. My Day 5 old beer traversn in Bowling Green, Ky where I ran 2 of them. Our juke box'es had so many of Charlie's records which where played day in and day out until closing at then 12:00 PM. It was such a pleasure to have met you both as something I will carry to my grave. God Bless you and him as well.

My heart was so saddened when I heard of Mr. Charley Pride's passing. I was never a true fan of country music until I heard Charley on the Lawrence Welk show singing a Hank Williams song better that Hank. I was privileged to see him at the Illinois State Fair and at Renfro Valley, KY. My sincere sympathy to you, Rose, and to your family. May God give you the peace and comfort that only He can give at a time like this. I am also 87 years old and still playing the piano at church every Sunday morning.

Was on a cruise ship. Mr. Pride was seated at the next table. We were back to back. Told him how much I liked his music. He noticed a Purple Heart pin on my suit. He thanked me for my service. I replied thanks for your service and said we were both in the service at the same time. I was sent to Germany. He asked if I ran into his buddy Elvis. Yes. I was in a tank training center. Etc. We chatted about military, his and my service at several meals. What a fine Gentleman he was. Great singer. Friendly and his Smile so wide and honest.

Charley, words can't describe how sad I am to hear of your death. I especially respect your lengthy marriage and Rozene must "be too good to be true" as you sang and how fortunate that you were able to spend so many years with the one you love, as marriages these days are so easily thrown away. I'm so glad you got to "Kiss an angel good morning" for 64 years I'll miss you so much and God bless your family. We all lost a treasure Dec. 12

I’m watching a pbs American masters series and it is about Charlie Pride. I am not a big country music fan but I certainly appreciate Charlie Pride as a great artist none the less. However his talent is only exceeded by the essential humanity of the man! His great singing artistry, his good looks, his genial manner, country music recognized all this to its credit!

I am a long-time fan of Charley Pride and have been devastated by his death on December 12, 2020 and still struggling with his loss. When I was a little kid in the early 70s and lived in a small West Texas town with a family-owned radio station, I would call them all the time to request they play Charley Pride songs and they started calling me Charley’s biggest littlest fan. I was privileged to go to 10 of his concerts in my lifetime and was able to go backstage to meet him when I was a kids at two of these concerts. One of my most treasured possessions are some pictures that are hanging on my wall with me as a kid going to see him backstage. They have been in the same frame and have been hanging on my wall for about 45 years. Charley will always be the BEST singer and entertainer ever.

My heart goes out to his family for your loss and also my thanks for sharing him with me and all of his fans. The more u see and read what others are saying on Facebook and in this guest book the more I realize what I already knew — what a TRULY CLASSY GENTLEMAN Charley Pride was and how great his loss is.

What is more amazing to me than his melodious singing is that he was married to the same woman for almost 64 years. In this culture when couples divorce so easily, it seemed as theirs was a deep spiritual bond and commitment that kept them together until the end came on December 12, 2020. R. I. P. Charley.
