Loretta and family,
It is inspiring to have met Dan and to learn something of his life and achievements. As I have related to you before Loretta, our nation needs Dan's wise counsel and the story of his life now more than ever. I had the pleasure of meeting Dan and Loretta when they visited Beardsley Library, in his hometown of Winsted, CT, to research his Smith family roots. Dan was a delightful person, with a passion for knowledge, and he will be fondly remembered. My sincerest sympathy to Loretta and family on their loss.
