Sean Cody was born in Corsicana, Texas on October 27, 1966. *He was 53 when he passed away Friday afternoon, November 22, 2019. *

He was a great man who served his country and has helped hundreds of people with his legal expertise in family law and gun rights. He was an advocate for gun rights. He was a fighter for fathers’ rights in custody disputes, oftentimes helping the father gain custody.

Sean has spent many years supporting the NFA Community and providing Trusts so many could take full advantage of NFA.

Sean loved his family, guns and watches in that order. He had a tender heart and was always willing to help others though you couldn’t always tell from the outside.

Sean was bigger than life. Dressed in combat gear, he always led the troops (neighborhood kids and ours) around the neighborhood for trick or treating. His witty comebacks made him a local celebrity in Fall Creek. Many a topic was discussed and world problems solved with friends as we all watched kids play in the driveway.

He was a great man, a loving husband and father and a favorite uncle. He loved his boys and his wife. His last thoughts were of his wife and boys. He had a passion for anything he involved himself in. The world was a better place with him here and he will be missed greatly.

Sean was preceded in death by his parents William Richard Cody and Carol Sue Cody.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Cody and two sons, Nathaniel Wesley Cody and Jonathan Charles Cody.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and a Celebration of Life service to begin at 7:00 P.M. at Pentecostals of Atascocita, 3448 Atascocita Road, Humble, Texas 77396. Interment at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas. Arrangements have been entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft Street, Houston, Texas 77081.

My sincerest condolences to the Cody family. Sean prepared a gun trust for me some years ago and I was surprised to learn that we were also neighbors in Fall Creek. I have since moved away from Fall Creek, but recently the question of a gun trust came up and I immediately thought of Sean.

While I recognize that I am bit slow on the draw to recognize his passing, my sincerest condolences to you all as a family.

Jennifer, I met you many years ago - I believe you and Sean had an apartment off of Waugh Drive in Houston.

I was looking at old sailing pictures this evening and I saw one of Sean sailing with me on my J22 in Mississippi at Summer on the Coast. I was shocked to see he had passed away.

Sean was a wonderful person to sail with. I enjoyed his friendship during those many days of sailing regattas. My condolences to you and your family. Peter O'Connor

Jennifer and family we just found out about Sean. Our heart is with you. We will forever remember Sean for being fun but yet a great attorney. He helped my husband with custody of two of his boys and we will forever appreciate his hard work. We are so sorry for your loss and for the loss of a great man. Big Hug. Van and Ginger Tolar

I just received the news of Sean’s passing. I am stunned. Sean and I raced sailboats together in Fort Worth and in Houston in the 90’s and 2000’s and have stayed in contact with through correspondence. My heart goes out to his family who I know he was very proud of and loved dearly. Gods speed Sean and Cody family. Prayers for all.

Very nice person, I am so sorry for the loss of Sean. He was one of a kind.

You were always a hero for me. This Warbird Commander will never forget even though the years passed and we went on with our lives.

Like so many others, I met Sean while attempting to get a trust done for NFA purposes. Im proud to say he quickly became a trusted friend. Cant begin to list all the things he helped me with, but, whenever there was a need he was always there. Once spent a day at the SHOT show with him-that was an absolute hoot. All I could do just to keep up with him! He was a fierce supporter of the second amendment and a true patriot. He lived life the way the man upstairs intended-to the absolute fullest....
