With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Flora Lee Cody, who departed this life on December 7th. Flora was gentle and loving. She was someone whose kindness touched everyone she met.
Flora was born in Indianola, MS. Flora attended IPS#75 and graduated from Harry E. Wood High School in 1972. Flora was known for her warm heart and unwavering generosity. She had a special way of encouraging others, offering strength, comfort, and a listening ear whenever it was needed. Her laughter, compassion, and spirit were a blessing to all who crossed her path.
Flora dedicated her much of her time to working in the Deli at Meijer’s Pike Plaza Indianapolis location. Always giving her best in everything she did with the customers and her co-workers. She always referred to her Meijer co-workers as “a family”. She was also previously employed with Kroger. She especially enjoyed and cherished spending time with her daughter and grandkids.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Natasha Cody; her siblings, Harvie (Betty) Cody, Sr; Pamela (David) Day, Sr; Jackey (Rochelle) Cody, Sr; Brenda (Stuart) White and Vanessa Wright. Her grandchildren, Elijah, Nehimyah, Na Ziyh and Junior. Her nephew/bonus son Jamarr Day. Special friends, Doris, Susan, Seth & her entire Meijers Pike Plaza family, many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theopolis & Mamie Cody, her brother Lonnie and her son Terry “Showboat”.
