Leo Connolly Obituary

CONNOLLY Leo L. Connolly, age 85, died on November 13, 2010 at Zusman Hospice in Columbus. He was born on December 13, 1924 in Oil City, PA. He is preceded in death by his wife Lois (Buckley), his parents Patrick Connolly and Bridget (Norris), seven sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Trevaskiss and her husband, John of Middletown, New Jersey; and by his son, Rev. Leo L. Connolly, II, of Columbus, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews and good and loving friends. He served as a corpsman in the United States Navy from 1942 until his retirement in 1962 having served in both the Atlantic and Pacific in World War II. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where he served in various roles including that of the funeral sacristan for many years. Visitation will be held at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 East Broad St., on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. There will be a Vigil Service at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass with Father Leo Connolly as Celebrant will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4383 East Broad St. at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the diocesan tuition assistance fund or a parish tuition assistance fund as Leo had a great love for Catholic education.

Mary Ann & Skip,
Both Jill and I were very sorry to hear of Bo's passing. We always looked forward to any vist because Bo was so fun to talk with and he always had the best stories. We will miss him very much. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry to hear of Leo's passing. I worked with him at the Property Disposal Regional Office. He had a great sense of humor and a pleasant person to work with. He spoke proudly of his daughter and son. My prayers are with you and your family.
