Dear Zook Family, Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved father, Gilbert. I wish I had been able to come and pay my respects in person. Both Gilbert and Dorothy Zook played an instrumental role in my coming to Christ. Their son Jerry was my best friend in NJ during my childhood, and his parents always opened their home to me, especially when my parents divorced in 1980. Though they moved to Virginia in 1982, their faithful prayers and service to God were answered when I became a Christian in 1997. I will be always be grateful for their faithfulness to our Lord. I don't think I have ever met two people who love Jesus more than Gilbert and Dorothy Zook. And I look forward to seeing them in the fullness of glory when God calls me home. Until then, they both deserve to be honored for their steadfast love for Jesus and faithfulness to the Kingdom of God. With sympathies and thankfulness,

Words can not explain my love for Gil Zook. When my Mother "Naomi Palmquist" passed away in March of this year, he insisted that I bring her remains from NC to Ashland so that we could have a memorial service at the church where she had worshiped with he and Dot for many years. He was best friends with my Dad "Harry" and grieved when he passed in 1998. He and Dot were mentors to me when I first got saved in 1995. He is now reunited with Dot,Jeff, My Mom and Dad, and all of his loved ones and friends that preceded him in going home. I am so happy mostly that he is reunited with his beloved Dot, and his son Jeff. I know he missed them so much. And now he in the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ whom he loved with all of his heart. Bro. Gil, I look forward to the day when I can see you again and we can all be together again for eternity. Well done thy good and faithful servant.
