Joe´s favorite question to me - with a sheepish grin - do you like movies? He was a great friend.

Enjoyed discussing investing possibilities and Joe always asking " Do you like movies" and slipping me a couple of movie tickets and laughing. He has a wonderful sense of humor and kindness. Knowing Chester, Joe, Karl and Bob Renn - The Renns are a fine family.
I am glad I think of Joe from time to time even though we moved to Georgia 13 years ago.

Dear Ones,
I had Mr. Renn on my mind tonight, for some reason. I was sitting in my living room chatting to Guy about him. Knowing he was in his 90s, I googled his name and his obituary came up. Though not surprised, for he lived a good long life. First, I love, love this picture. It shows not only his humor, but his radiance in living life. Also with the glass of wine or champaign. Mr. Renn not only was funny, but also had an ear to listen. While I was employed at Lisle Savings, he was surely my 2nd Dad. My last day there, I went to say good-bye to him; he so sweetly said; "you don't have to leave. If you change your mind at anytime you can stay." He was by far the best male boss I ever had. Someday I hope to share that glass of wine with you in the heavens. He taught me how to eat my first Chicago Italian beef; gave me the opportunities I believe I would not have had anywhere else; helped me understand about diversity; and that it was important to have fun:)
Goodbye for now. In reading other notes from this you have been surely missed Denise Cartwright

As soon-to-be neighbors of the Renns on Edgewater, we are sorry for the Renn family's loss. While we have never had the opportunity to meet Joe, we understand from others that he was a good, wonderful, and generous man; a fine husband, dad, grandpa , business man and community leader. We wish we had known him. Our sympathies to Dorothy Renn and to all of the extended family.

I feel so blessed to have known and worked for Mr. Renn for 28 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather as well as a father-figure to all of his employees. Lisle Savings, its employees, and the community benefited from his wise leadership and his amazing generosity.. He had a great sense of humor and was a good listener and problem solver. I was especially struck by what a voracious reader he was--multiple newspapers and business publications on a daily basis which he passed on to employees because he believed in education. We all respected and admired him so much. He will be missed.

I already posted once.
Since then I have as an employee Of Lisle Savings Bank, talked to so many people who are just learning about Joseph Renn's passing.
Any one that talked to me only had great praise for Mr, Renn.
They shared their stories. They shared their sadness. They shared their high respect for Joseph J. Renn. He was like a father parent to me and Mrs. Renn has always been like a mother to me.
I share this with the public because it is All Saint's Day, and the timing is very appropriate.
May you join the Saint's forever Joseph J. Renn
