Fernando Fuentes Obituary

Our brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, Fernando Fuentes, went to be with our Heavenly Father on September 4, 2018, joining his wife of 51 years, Juanita. Dad proudly served in WWII and was honored by the Library of Congress for his part of the Veterans History Project. Dad graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in pharmacy, working for Sommers Drug Stores before opening his own pharmacy until his retirement in 1996. He pursued computer online continuing education courses, enjoyed bingo, puzzles, music and was an avid Longhorn fan. "Hook'em Horns." He leaves behind his children: Lidia Templeman (Dave), Fernando Fuentes, Jr. (Gloria), Leticia Jimenez, Loretta Boeck (David), and Daniel Fuentes (Mona); sisters, Alice Cheaney and Minerva Guardiola; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Embrace Hospice LLLC, Brookdale Senior living, Dr. Mack and the residents for their care. Visitation will be Wednesday at 5:00pm in The Angelus Chapel with Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 9:30am at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. Dad, we will miss you, Lidia, Monnie, Letty, Lori and Danny. Condolences may be sent to www.theangelus
