I am so sorry for the family's loss. I remember he and my dad at the Humboldt County Fair Races running around and handicapping. I am sure they are at it once again.

So very sorry to read of Irv's passing. I absolutely adored his parents and he was an awesome guy. Whenever my family would be at Parloto's to eat, he always gave my boys a set of baseball cards. He had a great smile and was a people person. He loved his customers and made it a point to greet and visit with them, a kind person. He will be missed by many, but not forgotten. Please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Remember and hold dear the lessons and memories he left with you. (My family had the Anchor in Eureka and we loved to patronize each other, and we were sorry when they closed).

I first met Irv while working at the Humboldt County Fair, some 25 years ago, and he immediately impressed me with his overall love of horse racing, and,in particular, horse racing at Ferndale. Irv was so welcoming and generous that he made me feel like I was a friend, rather than an interloper from So Cal. He took time from his busy schedule at the restaurant to inquire how things were going at the fair - and to see if we needed anything. He always went out of his way to make sure his customers were satisfied. He was a great man, and I am so very sorry to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family.

Barbara and I are saddened to hear of Irv's passing. We have nothing but fond memories of dining at Parlato's and visiting with Irv and Marie. A plate of spaghetti topped with Marie's spaghetti sauce garnished with mushrooms sautéed in butter and garlic was heavenly. The steaks, seafood, boned fried chicken etc. all were beyond compare. R.I.P. Irv we'll miss you.

You will be missed old friend. We first met as kids playing Basketball in Weott, Ca.1955 then after the flood we lost contact until one day a few years ago we stopped by your work in Fortuna, was a great time seeing you again. God Bless your Family, and Friends, during this time.

Irv was the kindest and most generous person I have ever known. He was the proud owner of Parlatos restaurant. He loved visiting with every customer that came in the restaurant. He supported local sports and could be seen with a radio in his ear listening to the Giants. He was a proud board member on the Humboldt County Fair Board. We all loved you Irv and we will never forget you.
