Portia Ann Calloway

Portia was born on January 20, 1956 in Mount Hope, WV; the third child of Phillip and Dorothy Washington. Portia was well liked by everyone. She loved her family and especially her grandkids, they could do no wrong in Grannies eyes. Portia would let you know what she thought, whether you wanted to hear it or not. If you were her friend, you could take that to the bank.

Portia was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip F. Washington and Dorothy Washington; brothers, Phillip Washington and Robin Washington and sister, Vanessa Grasty.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving husband, Leroy Calloway of Waldorf, MD; sons, Anton I. Washington, Sr. of Washington, DC and Aaron Calloway of Waldorf, MD; daughter, Amanda Calloway (Joseph Middleton) of Waldorf MD; sister-in-law, Tiffany Green Washington of Glen Dale, MD; 5 grandchildren, Anton (AJ) Washington and Isis Washington of Glen Dale, MD, Joseph Middleton Jr. and Amari Middleton of Waldorf, MD., and Aaron Eli Calloway of Capitol Heights MD; sisters, Charmaine Pryor of Michigan, Cynthia Washington of Nashville, TN and Reba Washington of Nashville TN; brother, Worthington Washington of Nashville TN. Portia also leaves to cherish her memories her nieces and nephews to include Christopher Pryor of Michigan, Samantha (Christopher) Novak of California, Phillip Pryor of Michigan, Todd Allen of Huntington WV, Monique Heath of Columbus, Ohio, Josh Murray of Nashville TN, Elizabeth Woodard of South Carolina and Ian Washington of Nashville TN; sisters-in-law, Judith Gamble of Galax VA, Mary (Warren) Armstead of South Point Ohio; special cousin, Toney (Carla) Callaway of California; and special sister, Louise Powell of WV.

Family and friends will unite for a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 5, 2022 for visitation from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm; services from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 64 Industrial Park Drive, Waldorf, MD 20602.
