Randy Coble Obituary

Randy Coble was born April 21, 1957, and passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022, from cancer at Cox Medical Center with his mother Ruth Kennedy, his brother Rick Coble, and his sister-in-law Patti Coble by his side holding his hands.

Randy was the son of Richard Coble and Ruth Breeze Coble. He was born in Humansville and graduated from Humansville High School, and from Missouri State University with a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice.

If you knew Randy, you would know that he had to be busy and moving constantly. In the late 1970's he earned a certificate in Merchandising and Management and with this he started his career in Hotel and Restaurant Management in Springfield, and eventually relocated to Olathe, Kansas.
But in 1993 he fell critically ill, had extensive surgery, and spent four months in the hospital. The doctors told his mother it was doubtful he would survive, and if he did, he would no longer be able to work.

He fooled everyone. He moved back to Humansville and was on disability for two years but decided he didn't want any more of that. He canceled his disability and headed back to college. When canceling his disability, his contact at the social security administration asked him to repeat himself because she had never heard that from anyone before. And if he ever wanted to get back on, it would be no problem because of his medical records.

Randy was always committed to helping others. After earning a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice, Randy met Sister Lorraine Biebel (founder of The Kitchen), and he worked at the Kitchen for almost 19 years. Most recently, Randy was a Case Worker/Advocate at Burrell Behavioral Health.
One of Randy's favorite pastimes was visiting and having garage sales and checking out flea markets. He also loved classic cars.

He is survived by his mother Ruth Kennedy, brother Rick Coble, sister-in-law Patti Coble, niece Sorrel (Tara) Coble, and cousins K.B. and Anita Youngblood.

Preceding him in death were his father Richard Coble, uncle Kenneth and aunt Polly Youngblood, uncle Arthur Breeze, cousin Douglas Breeze, stepdad J. Pat Kennedy, and two sets of wonderful grandparents Dick and Vearl Coble and Floyd and Zeffie Breeze, who were so good to take care of Rick and Randy so mother Ruth could work.

A visitation for Randy will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home in Humansville, Missouri, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
