Robert Craig "Robbie" Stein
November 14, 1957 - October 9, 2022
Lexington, Kentucky - Robert Craig "Robbie" Stein, 64, of Lexington, KY, son of Colonel Ed and Ann Stein, passed away peacefully on Sunday at his home after a long illness. Robbie was the father of Craig Stein and Jennifer Ann Stein. He was a 1978 graduate of Henry Clay High School and a member of Ohavay Zion Synagogue. He spent much of his life in the restaurant business in Kentucky and Florida, which included the family business of Kentucky Colonel Barbecue as well as manager of the Parkette Drive In.
After his work as a restauranteur, Robbie spent many years in shipping for SYSCO and then at Trane Manufacturing, where he rose to the position of supervisor. He was a loving son, father, brother and uncle. He was also a wonderful cook and an avid sports fan, especially UK football and basketball, as well as the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals.
In addition to his children, Robbie is survived by his brother, Alan, his sisters Teri Harper (Len), Caryn Hoffman (Toby, deceased) and Ricki Harrison (Doug) and numerous nephews, niece, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, October 12 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Milward's on Broadway. A private burial will be held on Thursday at the Lexington Cemetery.
