Salt Lake City, UT-On Monday, October, 17, 2022, Michael John McAfee passed away at age 86, surrounded by family just as he always was in life.

Born on June 26, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Stevenson and Phyllis Doxey McAfee, Mick was best known for his kind heart, playful nature and a mischievous smile that kept family close and turned friends into family-all eager to join in whatever adventure Mick brought to life.

A collector of lifelong friends, Mick attended Olympus high school where he met his forever sweetheart, June Godwin. The two were married on April 26, 1957, and together they raised four beautiful children, 27 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren who would all give anything for one more afternoon laughing in the sunshine with Mick.

Mick had the unique gift of making everyone feel special, and he never seemed to run out of attention, energy or time-when it came to the people he loved, Mick's enthusiasm was endless.

He loved the outdoors and filled his days with golf, boating, hunting, the Utes, RSL and travel, always eager to share his hobbies and fill his time with friends and family.

Mick is survived by his loving wife June, his children, Steven (Jill) McAfee, Todd (Gaby) McAfee, Susan (Stuart) Davis, Patrice (Tony) Rikli, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, his sister Colleen (Craig) Kitterman, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Stevenson and Phyllis Doxey McAfee.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening October 25, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at the Little Cottonwood Stake Center located at 1160 East Vine Street. Services will be held on Wednesday October 26, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South) with a visitation prior to the services, noon-1:30 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at the same location.
