Cynthia Murphy Obituary

Cynthia "Cindy" Doucet Murphy, born October 9, 1958, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Timothy G. Murphy; daughters, Kellen Juliana Murphy (Randy Rossignol, MD) and Connor Frances Murphy; grandchild, Baby Rossignol; mother, Marie Elaine Doucet; brothers, Robert W. Doucet (Denise) and Valsin W. Doucet (Kelly); and sisters-in-law, Ann Murphy Taylor (Bobby) and Caryl Murphy Massicot (Jim). She is preceded in death by her father, Robert W. Doucet, stepfather, G. Thomas DuBose, and mother-in-law, Frances M. Murphy. Cindy was a graduate of Mount Carmel Academy and Louisiana State University. Cindy always prioritized her family and devoted her life as a mother to raising two beautiful daughters. She was proud of her role of stay-at-home mom, always going above and beyond to ensure her girls had anything they could possibly need for every project or event. Cindy's crystal blue eyes held a constant twinkle and strong sense of engagement. Anyone she ever encountered quickly learned there was no such thing as small talk with Cindy. Her contagious energy and passion touched the lives of many, leaving an unforgettable impression. As a problem solver, advisor, empath, comforter, and mender, she always knew just what to say and how to flawlessly handle any situation or challenge. Cindy had an overwhelming capacity to love and advocated with unyielding compassion for women and those facing adversity or injustices. She was a humble artist and an innovator. Her sense of style and design aesthetic were unmatched and nothing short of fabulous. Cindy's warm presence and affection will be deeply missed by all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 11:45 AM to 1:30 PM followed by a memorial mass on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70124.
